The Leffe Abbey overlooks the river Meuse at Dinant in the Wallon region where they made beer until the Napo-leonic times, in the 1950's it made the first licencing arrangement thus creating "Abbey Beers". Now it is the best known "Abbey Beer" in Belgium being brewed to the monastic recipe in a commercial brewery. Light bodied for its strength and with a little hoppy dryness at the finish and a spicy clove like aroma. |
